I purchased my 2010 Legacy 6 months ago. I don't think there should be any rust whatsoever in the engine bay. Thoughts anyone?

A lot of car makers leave thick steel uncoated under their cars. You will find slightly rusted parts on new cars throughout the nation. Looks bad but has no effect on their performance. You can paint them with a rust coating such as DuPont Extend and it will stop the surface rust, but that will only have asthetic value and not change anything other than the look.
